Lucia Coghetto, known as Ghetto, was born in Mestre (Venice) in 1961. She currently lives and works in the province of Vicenza - Italy. Ghetto has been painting all her life, learning side by side with established artists, and following private courses. She is a figurative artist. For over a decade she has been painting on plaster, in the style of the frescos.

Ghetto's latest works are based on old wooden boards that have already been used for packagings. Printed markings might occasionally appear on these supports, together with the grain and the knots in the wood, in perfect synergy with the image. The artist also focuses on the female figure, expressing her own identity. In the paintings on canvas, faces and expressions are enhanced, magnifying details to take up all the space and making the mood the real subject of the artwork. Ghetto's talent in making excellent portraits is highly established.
